Elderly / Senior Care
As seen on National Television we are the nations leading Dementia Care specialist.
Dementia is a difficult and frightening disease; no less serious than cancer or heart disease and usually far more devastating to the harmony of the family. Alzheimer’s Disease is the most common form of dementia, however there are many other types of the disease all with varying symptoms and affects. Most people feel that dementia is a normal part of aging, when in fact, it is a disease; sadly, at this point in time, it is a disease without a cure and so must be treated with knowledge, skill, patience and respect for the affected individual, who will undergo dramatic and unexpected changes in their life. These changes will have a direct impact on family members who are left wondering, “what can I do to help my loved one?” “Where can I turn to get information and effective professional dementia caregiving?”
At Senior Helpers we have made a commitment to offer the most professional and competent dementia care available. We train our staff members in our carefully designed Dementia Care Program, offered to our proven and experienced caregivers who have demonstrated an acuity for this unique and skilled form of professional caregiving.
We have drawn our procedures from Alzheimer’s and Dementia care organizations and from industry professionals who have focused on cognitive research and treatments for many years. The practical skills and treatment methods needed to offer assistance to victims of this disease are taught in intensive ‘hands-on’ training sessions and through step by step training manuals.
Upon successful completion of the training, caregivers earn a special “Dementia Care Specialist” designation and are considered leaders in their field. We continually search for new education materials and the most current and up to date information on the disease so that we can offer a complete in-home care commitment to those seniors affected by Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease and to their families.
